Members of the House of Representatives serve two-year terms; elections for each seat are held every even numbered year. Senators serve six-year terms with a third of the Senate seats open every even numbered year. Currently, there are NO LIMITS on how many terms a Representative or Senator may serve.
Congressional term limits will provide the Legislature with new people who have fresh ideas and are strictly focused on serving the interests of their constituents during their short time in Congress. This is non-partisan. It doesn’t matter which side of the fence you stand behind or what type of fence you stand in front of.
Term Limits ensure greater fiscal responsibility and lower taxes. The longer politicians stay in office, the more of our tax dollars they spend. Term Limits reduce corruption and open our government to new people with new ideas to solve our country’s problems.
